Our patented VoiceTrack speech recognition technology is revolutionary because it provides a robust solution to automatically follow a All references to Dragon Dictate Medical for Mac (DDM4M) pertain specifically to version four of the software, which was released in the first quarter of 2015.Here are some first impressions of 'Dragon for Mac 5', which I downloaded at a special offer price and installed last week. PromptSmart is the only smart teleprompter app. VoiceTrack follows as you speak and pauses while you improvise, transforming video production, broadcast media, and public speaking.Make sure that the toggle button for Speech Recognition is turned onI am a rusted-on Mac user, and for a number of years I have run Dragon NaturallySpeaking on my Mac with a Windows virtualisation app (Parallels). Click on the Ease of Access settings, the click the Speech menu option. To turn this feature on, go to your Windows Control Panel and click the Settings icon. Windows (7 or later) also has free device-based speech recognition software available. You have to say 'press the keys command b'. There is no 'bold on', 'underline on' etc command. Amazingly, there is no 'go to end of line' command.I think this app will be useful for me, within its limitations, but it's no substitute for NS.I've been using Dragon NS with Windows on various Macs for about 8 years now. Perhaps it's just a factor of dictating into this app, because Word and Mail haven't been too bad. These are only first impressions. You have to first select the text, then say 'correct that', or 'correct ', and you can't just say 'spell that'.Finally, this particular exercise in dictation into Chrome is turning into a total disaster: all the old faults of DragonDictate are reemerging. You can't say 'correct that'. There is the facility of typing in another word that your new word sounds like! The app is said to learn from your corrections, but how this is achieved is a mystery.Corrections are clunky compared to NS. You can add words to the vocabulary, but not train them by voice.
And I don't know whether you could do it with a newer version of Windows. You can have both the Mac OS and Windows open at the same time and run DNS Premium 13 with only 8gb - I know this because it works well enough on an older MBP that I have with only 8 gb and a dual core processor - but it's not as good. Word is even easier, just open whatever Mac Word document you are working on in Windows instead of Mac (right click>open with) and dictate - all the changes are saved in the mac version. What you miss, of course, is a whole range of functionality when it comes to controlling your computer, but this doesn't concern me.Ram could be an issue. I make no claim to knowing how it's done exactly, but I do know the difference between Windows and Linux. It is of interest to note that while some dolphins are reported to have learned English - up to fifty words used in correct context - no human being has been reported to have learned dolphinese. While I would tend to agree with you that the speech algorithm(s) in Dragon for Mac 5.0 add those for DNS or DPI individual are probably very similar in terms of accuracy and performance, they're not 100% identical because Dragon for Mac 5.0 has to include it's own Application Program Interface (API), whereas in DNS or Dragon Professional Individual, it's built into the operating system. What Dragon for Mac 5.0 can do is based on Linux. Therefore, what Dragon Professional Individual or DNS can do is based on Windows. Therefore, I can't comment on your pros and cons, and I won't even try.The only point that I would make is that the difference between the Apple operating system and the Windows operating system is that the Mac operating system is Linux. I am going to post an update now in a new topic, because I want people to know just how limited it is, and I wouldn't want anyone to buy it on the strength of my last post. But within the limitations described above, I would warmly recommend DNS on the Mac with virtualisation.I have yet to try Dragon for Mac 5.0, and it probably won't be for a while yet anyway. Shortcut for saving word document on macI did email Nuance but they wanted some screenshots and didn't give me much time to reply before they closed my question I'm physically disabled and a research student at Portsmouth University in the UK I use Dragon because I can only type with two fingers on my left hand. When using both the previous version of Dragon Dictate and now Dragon for Mac 5 after a while Word 2013 crashes. My Windows is a Lenovo G500 laptop with Windows 10 and 8GB RAM and an i5 chip. My Mac is an iMac mid 2011 with an i5 chip and 4GB RAM running OSX El Capitan and I also use Dragon for Mac 5 on my MBA which is a mid 2012 11" model with either an i3 or i5 chip and 4GB RAM. I have both Mac and Windows computers and use both Dragon for Mac 5 and Dragon Professional Individual. Best Speech Recognition 2015 Upgrade As II'm much more of a Machead I did have Windows 7 running on my iMac under Bootcamp but it wouldn't upgrade as I didn't bother with regular upgrades and so couldn't upgrade to Windows 10. I now have some screenshots of the message and more information that comes up when Word crashes on my iMac and am going to contact Nuance again but I seriously thinking about getting a new computer.
